I realize that the busiest time for a realtor is usually the weekend. Whether it be showing properties, open houses, or acquiring a new lisiting. Maybe they took the day off.. after all we all need some time for our own affairs.
At this point in the real estate market, there is more inventory than normal. So, why is it that when I called a realtor here in Cromwell, CT, I did not get a return call. I am still waiting for it... from yesterday, even after leaving two messages.. one on their cell and one at the office. Thank goodness my clients were with me when I made the calls. They are frustrated knowing that they will not be able to see this home this weekend (second showing). My question is that with the amount of homes available, why not return a call. What happened to common courtsey? Who knows, my clients might have put an offer in on this property. Which would have been good for the other realtor, their client, as well as mine... now we will never know. They are moving onto another listing, but thank goodness, not another realtor. I've always keep open communications with them, and have gone over and above their expectations. Maybe the lack of return calls might be one of the reasons why people do not like working with realtors.. They don't like their ethics or lack of professionalism.
This reminds me... last year I picked up new clients, because they called another real estate office here in Connecticut, but never got a call back. They send me an email in regard to a listing I had and I responded in less than an hour. They couldn't get over it.. they signed with me the first time we might. They bought a house in less than a month. My thought... customer service should be at the top of our list.
