When it comes to a closing gift for a client I try to find something unique and not run of the mill. This is hard when every client has different tastes as well as personality.
I've tried the food/wine route for a while, but realized that after these were consumed, there was no need to keep the gift box.. just wasn't personal enough.
Then one day I went to a Partylite party. I love candles and thought maybe there is something there for clients. Sure enough there was. I was so impressed that I bought 9 of them right off the bat.
It is called the Symmetry Candle and it comes in 3 sizes. It is a cylinder vase on the bottom and it comes with an insert on top for a candle. You might think this is nice but wonder what is the significance of this gift for clients... simple. You can personalize it for every client you have.
These symmetry candles I've put sand and shells in the bottom and a candle in the top (when selling a home on waterfront property); to cotton balls in the bottom part and Q-tips where the candle would go (for a soft touch in a bathroom). This makes this gift versatile and can go into any room, it can also be changed seasonally or for holidays. Get red, white and blue ribbons for the bottom, and a red candle on top... there you have the perfect centerpiece for the 4th of July, Memorial or Labor Day. Soon I'll put plastic Easter eggs in the bottom, and M&M's on the top. If done right, this gift will always be out insight and makes a make a good conversation piece. What better way to keep your name out there.
As of late, I've been purchasing these from Yankee Candle.. they have a deeper candle holder on top which is good for my Q-tip idea.
