I know that some ActiveRain members don't like to hear negative things or to put people down. I am NOT trying to do this in this blog.. I am just venting.
Today I had a home inspection for one of my buyers in Cromwell, CT. We have all been there, right? Working together with our buyers and home inspectors to make sure everything goes smoothly. Well, this time I was working with a home inspector I have never worked with before, so I just stood back to see how he works.
The sellers were on their way out of their home when I arrived at the front door. I went in and the inspector was still outside. The sellers mentioned that they were going out during the home inspection to look for homes. This is a good thing, since the contract states "sellers to find suitable housing"... but still time is of the essenes to make sure all time lines are met. The home inspector wished the seller good luck, and then proceeds to say "TAKE YOUR TIME... YOU DON'T WANT TO RUSH THIS". I was in the house and just wanted to scream "NOOOOO"... He should have just stopped at the "good luck".
When our mutual clients showed up, he was walking around with them, and I stayed in the background. After all, they have paid for this service, and I don't want to get in the way. I'm only there to answer real estate questions.
When they went to the back of the house, his first comment was "I WOULDN'T WANT TO MOW THIS YARD"!!. The backyard is on a hill. Why would he say this?
Don't get me wrong, the job he did of inspecting the house was phenomenal but why jeopardize it by saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.
Thank you for reading this blog. OK, I'm done whining... it is just now time to sit back and see what the buyer's want to do.
