With the gas prices going up, as we have ALL noticed. Today I found out two was to reduce gas consumption.. so I thought I would pass it along.
Instead of just looking for the cheapest gas, and driving all over for this quick solution, how about checking the tire pressure? If you put a little more air in the tires you can save a lot of gas, as well as money. I think less wear and tire on the tires too.
The other item, that we (I know I don't always check) is the air filter. This gets dirty, just like a home furnace. It traps all the dust and smoke as you drive around and prevents your engine from getting clean air. I was at the Toyota dealership getting an oil change and they suggested this... Hey, I'll try anything at this point. The filter only cost $15.00, and I was told that it could increase my mileage up to 10% by doing this. The 10% savings will cover the cost of the air filter, and then some... how can one go wrong?
Remember today is Earth Day, and every little thing will do will add up to something big.
