SPYWARE WARNING
I hope this got your attention. There is a new virus out there that attacked my computer yesterday. The virus is ANTISPYWARE2009. I have NO idea how it got on my desktop computer.. might have been dormant for a while. It pop up scanning my computer and told me I have 4 infected files. Not knowing anything about this product, I just hit the *X* to cancel it. That did not work. Then I went into the Program Files to uninstall. This looked like it worked, but didn't. Next went into the Control Panel to remove the program. It just installed it again..even though "REMOVE" was the only option.
A friend of mine came over to help at that point. Being an IT person, I figured he would be able to fix it. He couldn't either. He even changed the .EXE at the end of the file, and this program created another file to over write it.
Jeremy ended up having to dump everything and reinstall the system. NOT FUN!! It still isn't completely up and running... ran out of time... by midnight, we had it. Thank goodness I've backed up all the file, and I have my notebook to work from.
So, stay away from anything that says ANTISPYWARE2009.
