I have a client that is looking to find a rent in the Middletown/Cromwell area of Connecticut. He has been relocated and needs a place to live by August 1st. You wouldn't think that this is that difficult, right?
We've seen two rentals, both with the same agency in Middletown and with the same agent. He has excellent credit, over 725 FICO score, but is shy on income. So, he is having his father co-sign for a rental. His father is a CEO and makes well over $250k, and also has a FICO score over 725.
We have supplied the agent/agency in Middletown CT with the rental app, credit(s), and employment verification... on Monday. You would think we would have a response within 24 hours, right? NOT IN THIS CASE!! On Tuesday I received a quick call saying we would know by Tuesday evening. Guess what. It is now Thursday and still no response. What happened to basic communication skills?
I have called, emailed, and texted the agent. I even left a message with the broker of the agency. Just 5 minutes ago, I received a text. Ready for this? The response was "Client denied". No explanation, nothing. What a lame Realtor. He has no Kahunas!! I've called, texted and emailed wanting further explanation.. how much do you want to make a bet I will NOT hear back.
Now, my client has seen another place he would like to pursue.. LOL. It is with the same agency, and you guessed it, with the same agent.
What ever happened to common courtesy? Ever since we have more technology, common sense has flown out the window.
Thank you for letting me vent.. I feel better now. Back to the drawing board.
