This past weekend here in New England was GORGEOUS.. to say the least. The leaves are turning brilliant colors, and the air was crisp. This was a great weekend for a drive and see the fall foligage... and this is exactly what I did. I drove through Massachusetts, and then headed for Boston. Usually the drive from Cromwell, CT only takes 90 minutes.. door to door. But not on Saturday. This time it took over 2 ½ hours. The reason for this is that I wasn't the only one that had this idea. The Mass Pike was a moving parking lot.... back ups to get off ranged about 45 minutes. I noticed one exit that had 1½ line of cars to exit the pike.
I want to say I am PROUD of all the people out on the road.. and driving. We didn't care what the media has been telling us about the gas prices (thank goodness they have come down), and that the economy is so bad. It is, but we don't have to keep it this way. This past Saturday proved that. When I was in downtown Boston, the restaurants were packed, and people were carrying shopping bags.. myself included. One of the ways that we will stimulate this ecomony and change the economy is to "spend money". This is why I bought some things.. every little bit helps. We don't need more people to loose their jobs, and this is one way to do so... at least is my opinion, for what it is worth. Let's pay it forward.
So thank you to everyone I saw shopping, eating out, and driving this weekend.. WAY TO GO!!!.
